Headquartered in London and Lagos, our Renewable Energy Innovation Centre tests, develops and integrates advanced renewable energy technologies. We work with manufacturers and partners to improve the cost, reliability, and scalability of clean energy solutions.

Our innovation teams are active across West and East Africa, as well as in Europe and North America, with projects under development in multiple countries.

Flagship & Pilot Projects

Partner E-Bike Logistics Company

Type: Emissions reduction, micro clean-energy generation, local jobs, air quality

Status: In Progress · Partially funded.

A last-mile delivery project using e-bikes and renewable-powered battery swap stations to reduce emissions and improve urban air quality in densely populated cities.

Modular Stand-Alone Electricity Generator (Compressed Air & Solar/Thermal)

Type: Emissions reduction, clean energy generation, air quality.

Status: field testing · Design research-funded

A modular, solar-powered electricity generation system for space-constrained, off-grid locations. It aims to offer a cleaner, quieter alternative to diesel generators in remote, peri-urban and offshore contexts.

IoT Diesel Particulate Filter for Diesel Generators

Type: NOx and particulate reduction, public health, data and measurement, air quality

Status: Stakeholder consultation · Unfunded

An IoT-enabled retrofit solution to reduce harmful emissions from existing diesel generators. It combines a particulate filter with real-time monitoring and data analytics to improve air quality and inform policy.
